Catuai is the product of a cross between highly productive Mundo Novo and compact Caturra, created in Sao Paolo Brazil in 1949, then introduced across South America starting in 1970. Most people prefer natural processing methods for Catuai, as they add body to the cup and create a unique profile. It’s a versatile varietal, which can create unique cup profiles depending on where and how it is cultivated.
